The Provisional Itinerary

Glasgow (Day 1)

All Guests

  • Arrive in Glasgow for airport pickups before 3pm and settle in for the start of the adventure!

  • Enjoy a welcome dinner at Table Twenty Eight, the perfect setting to meet fellow travellers before the journey begins.

Golfers (Optional)

  • Those arriving early can play an optional warm-up round at Royal Troon or Trump Turnberry, two legendary Open venues that set the tone for the trip. Speak to Ari about arrival dates and course options.

Oban + Isle of Mulle + Isle of Iona (Days 2–3)

All Guests

  • Travel together through the stunning landscapes of the west coast, pausing at Loch Lomond for a stop in the quaint village of Luss and lunch at the Coach House, a beautiful local gem with boutique village stores.

  • Explore the charming harbour town of Oban, known as the “Gateway to the Isles,” and take a guided tasting at the historic Oban Distillery, known for its high-end whiskeys with some tastings along the way. Enjoy fresh seafood at one of the many waterfront dining options in town.

  • Accommodation is likely in a boutique apartment within short walking distance to town.

Golfers

  • Experience golf as it was centuries ago at the Isle of Iona links, where sheep and cattle mow the fairways and locals may even challenge us to an Aussies vs locals match — one of the hardest to reach from Australia with 24 hours of flying plus 2 ferries to get there! Blind tee shots and rugged terain are one of the many challenges along the way. See how you navigate some of the bowl & table top shaped greens. Oh and watch out for the bull! Be sure to bring a light golf bag or half set for the day

Non-Golfers

  • Take a scenic day trip around the Isle of Mull, visiting the self-sustaining Glass Barn farm that produces its own cheese, coojin, and “whey-ski,” which was one of the previous years favourite stops. Then you're off exploring the colourful village of Tobermory. Keep your eyes peeled for puffins along the rugged coast! You'll catch an ferry back to Oban before dinner, to watch sunset over the water if the weather prevails!

Inverness & Aviemore (Days 4–7)

All Guests

  • We will leave Oban and journey north through the dramatic peaks of Glencoe, stopping for lunch at the iconic Kingshouse Restaurant before a chairlift ride offering panoramic Highland views.

  • Explore Loch Ness and Inverness, combining local legend with Highland charm. Will you spot the Loch Ness monster?

  • Join the group for a full day in Speyside, tasting some of the finest whiskies in the world. This is Ari & Holly's most favourite regions for quality wiskeys, with typical smooth and fruity hints and only hints of smokey peate.

  • Along the way, we will also have handpicked stops, off the beaten path from Keith’s personal favourites from his time living in Scotland

Golfers

  • Optional round at Boat of Garten for those that want to get more golf in. It's a picturesque parkland course nestled among pines and mountains and has come highly reccomended by Keith as a non links style course.

  • Play a premium seaside links course near Inverness (to be confirmed), where the wind, water, and landscape create a true Scottish golf test. Availability at some premium courses are difficult a long way in advance so this page will be updated regularly

Non-Golfers

  • Take a nostalgic ride aboard the famous Jacobite steam train, a Highland icon featured in the Harry Potter films! You'll pass mountains, lochs and ocean-side scenery in vintage carriages and steam locomotives.

St Andrews (Days 8–12)

All Guests

  • Travel south with scenic stops at The Hermitage, a magical rainforest designed as a pleasure ground in the 18th century with picturesque views used as a popular wedding spot. If time allows, we will make a stop just south of St Andrews at The Kelpies, a 30 meter tall artwork inspired by Scottish folk-lore and Clydsdale horses of the region. And while we are there, we'll spot the Falkirk Wheel, a unique piece of engineering- it's rotating boat lift the is unlike any other in the world

  • Walk the hallowed fairways of the Old Course on Sunday while it’s closed for play — a rare privilege to experience the home of golf up close.

  • Enjoy an optional walking tour and cocktails in town, learning about what makes this university town special, and dropping past St Andrews Castle, an often missed attraction when golfers visit the area.

Golfers

  • Play the spectacular Castle Course, a modern masterpiece overlooking the North SeaThis course is akin to Kings Barnes, only a short drive away and double the price. With 18 holes of water views, last years trip proved how much the views could distract. Beware the greens- Ari had 40+ putts last year! Caddy's are recommended here.

  • Tee up at Lundin Links, a locals’ favourite hidden gem with sweeping coastal views back toward St Andrews. This is one of Keith's recommended courses, slightly off the beaten path and unknown to many tourists visiting the area

  • Challenge yourself on the historic Jubilee Course right in the middle of the St Andrews town and complex. Play alongside The Old & The New course and experience similar course architecture and conditions as years of Open tournaments. Enjoy a drink and meal afterwards in the clubhouse overlooking 17th of the Old course & The Old Course Hotel. This is a good time to purchase any souvenirs you may want too!

  • I’ll personally manage your Old Course ballot entries, drawing on last year’s experience to give the group the best possible chance of playing without paying thousands for guaranteed tee times. Please decide if you'd like to play well before arriving into St Andrews. Ari will keep you updated with how best to maximise your chances of playing on 'The Home of Golf.'

Non-Golfers

Explore Holly’s curated “Best of St Andrews” day, hand-picked from last year’s highlights.

  • Visit William Scott’s Palace and the nearby amethyst caves, blending history and natural beauty.

  • Discover the mystical Dunino Den, a hidden glade steeped in folklore.

  • Visit Kitchen Coos & Ewes, meeting Highland cows and watching sheepdogs in action while enjoying a high tea made from creamy coo milk.

  • Take a day trip to the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, the world’s largest celebration of arts and culture.

Edinburgh (Days 13–16)

All Guests
Travel together to Edinburgh and settle into our accommodation 40 mins outside the city at a boutique hotel with great breakfast!

  • Explore the Old and New Towns on a walking tour, with time to shop and enjoy the lively streets. Be prepared for entertainment on every corner of Edinburgh with the Fringe Festival on

  • Visit the iconic Edinburgh Castle, with the traditional 12pm canon firing, countless museums and a 2000 year old church! Then enjoy a group dinner at Wingham’s Wine Cellar before the unforgettable Royal Military Tattoo that evening. The Military Tattoo was one of my personal most memorable moments of the trip

  • Experience the Johnny Walker whisky education and tasting, with interesting facts about whiskey's long history in the area, how the blends are made from different regions and what unique flavours the regions develop

  • Enjoy a free day to explore and be sure to book your Edinburgh Fringe tickets to your favourite comedians and artists- or relax before departure.

  • Morning transfers will be arranged to the airport or train station — or stay on with me for an optional extension to Italy, a hand-curated follow-up tour from last year’s research trip.

Golfers (Optional)

  • Enter one final Old Course ballot for a last chance to play the world’s most iconic course.

  • Optional round at one of the hidden gem courses south of Edinburgh, favoured by locals like Keith that tourists don't normally get to

THE BEST OF ITALY

Venice (Day 1 & 2)

Arrive into Venice Airport and enjoy a smooth transfer to your hotel. Ari will be on hand to help with luggage and get everyone settled before you set off to explore the famous piazzas and canals. Venice feels like a dream, and every corner is a photo waiting to happen.

That evening, we’ll come together for our opening night dinner at a well-known local restaurant. Venice is famous for its seafood, and Ari recommends trying the squid ink pasta he loved on his first visit. You’ll also find incredible dishes like sarde in saor (sweet and sour sardines) and risotto al nero di seppia.

The next day, enjoy an optional gondola ride along the canals and take in the timeless views from the water. Don’t miss St Mark’s Square and its golden Basilica, a thousand-year-old symbol of Venetian wealth and artistry. Ari will help guide you through the city, showing you the best spots to wander, shop and eat. Venetian pizza is light and simple, perfect for comparing later with Florence and Rome.

Inclusions

  • Transfers from Venice Airport

  • Water / Taxi or Ferry to Hotel

  • Two nights accommodation in Venice in boutique accommodation

  • Welcome dinner at a premium restaurant

Florence (Days 3–5)

We’ll start the day with a relaxed morning before making our way to Florence. Even the drive is part of the experience, with a few stops at Italy’s surprisingly gourmet service stations. Try an espresso at the bar for around one Aussie dollar and soak up the atmosphere. Ari will guide you through the ritual while Holly uses her Italian to order like a local.

On the way, we’ll visit Pisa to see the famous Leaning Tower. It’s one of the world’s most recognisable landmarks and a perfect photo stop before arriving in Florence.

In Florence, take time to explore the city’s rich history and Renaissance art, from the magnificent Duomo to the Ponte Vecchio and the narrow cobblestone streets filled with gelato shops. The following day, we’ll spend the day in the Tuscan countryside for a winery tour surrounded by rolling vineyards and olive groves. Tuscany is known for its Chianti wines, local olive oils and rustic dishes like bistecca alla fiorentina and ribollita.

Before heading to Rome, we’ll enjoy a slow morning with the option to stop at another small winery. It’s the perfect transition into the final stage of the trip.

Inclusions

  • Three nights accommodation in Florence

  • Full-day Tuscany wine tour

  • Visit to Pisa and the Leaning Tower

  • Travel day with Italian espresso and food experiences

Roma (Days 6–10)

Arrive in Rome and settle into a central hotel, within easy reach of many of the city’s most famous sights. In the evening, take a walk nearby and discover Rome’s unique food culture. The pizza here is square and sold by the gram, while the city’s carbonara and Saltimbocca alla Romana are local must-tries.

The next morning, we’ll visit the Colosseum early to beat the crowds. Ari and Holly will help you set up a self-guided walking tour so you can explore the Forum and Palatine Hill at your own pace. Later, join Ari for an optional food and cultural walk to discover hidden restaurants, taste authentic sauces and shop for Italian delicacies.

Then it’s time for a full-day adventure to the Amalfi Coast. Cruise along the sparkling coastline to Positano, where colourful houses spill down the cliffs to the sea. Enjoy a meal at a restaurant with breathtaking ocean views, or relax at a beachside bar with a cold lemon beer. On the way back, stop in Amalfi to sample locally made limoncello and pistachio liqueur, crafted by families who’ve been perfecting their recipes for generations.

The final day in Rome is free for you to explore or take an optional trip to Pompeii before we gather for a farewell dinner to celebrate the journey together.

Inclusions

  • Four nights accommodation in Rome

  • Colosseum visit and self-guided walking tour

  • Amalfi Coast day trip with boat ride

  • Final night group dinner
